Stotan Racing is designed for the competitive post-collegiate runner who desires coaching, seeks improvement, aspires for top athletic pursuits, and proves this by living and training with devotion to excellence.  To most of our runners, 'the pursuit of excellence' is defined by training toward qualification into USATF Championships and US Olympic Trials, and one day reach the very heights of performance that will qualify us for US World Teams, World Championships, and the Olympic Games.

Athletes are considered based upon commitment to excellence, proven athletic ability, and devotion to regional, national, and world level aspirations in distance running.

Stotan Racing athletes receive support as follows:

STOTAN RACING SPONSORED ATHLETES

- Nike equipment: including trainers, spikes, flats, accessories, and apparel for both warm and cold weather.

- Travel support to certain target/key competitions

- Opportunity to earn beginner Nike contract, entirely performance based

ALL STOTAN RACING ATHLETES (NON-SPONSORED & SPONSORED)

- Coaching provided by John & Bill Aris

- Nutritional product support from Pacific Health Laboratories, including Endurox R4 Recovery Drink, Accelerade Advanced Sports Drink, 2nd Surge caffeinated gels & Accel gels

- Team comradery and support.  A network of teammates gives Stotan Racing a unique and valued feel for a post-collegiate team.  Scheduled practices, strength sessions, and supplementary training sessions allow athletes to make the most of each other.

- Near 20 miles of soft surfaces within Green Lakes State Park (2,100 acres), including grass fields, hilly dirt/groomed trails, and gravel pathways.  Combined with the Erie Canal Pathway (gravel), the network of soft surfaces becomes extensive and varied in the warm months.

- Miles of low-traffic country roads that serve as an ideal training ground when the program does not call for soft surfaces.  These roads are also beneficial when the parks and paths become unavailable in the winter months.  Both flat and extremely hilly roads can be reached within a 15min drive.

- Strength training facilities within the offices of Fairway Physical Therapy.  This area is ideal for our strength training regimen as well as drills and other supplemental work and provides Stotan athletes with a "home base" to work as a group.

- Access to Manley Fieldhouse at Syracuse University (270m indoor track & turf field) for quality track work during the winter months (through head coach Chris Fox at Syracuse University).

In addition, all athletes are encouraged to purchase a YMCA membership, which provides access to treadmills, an Olympic size pool, steam rooms & hot tubs, and an additional weight lifting facility through the East Area YMCA.  The Southwest Area YMCA houses a 200m 6-lane mondo track open to use by all members.
